Kumato Bloody Mary

May 16, 2012 · 0 comments

This Kumato Bloody Mary has been on my to drink list for at least a year now. I’ve been seeing these cute little tomatoes all over the place lately and thought they would be perfect for a fun twist on one of my favorite Saturday AM drinks. They’re a little bit sweeter than the standard tomato with a rich, full-bodied taste and a gorgeous dark and deep reddish-brown color. I’ve been using them a ton in salads and such – a perfect find and as a bonus they tend to last longer than most fruits & veggies. Great for people like me who can never use an entire package within a couple of days. Yum!

Helloooooooo SPRING! This is a very happy drink and I have to insist that you try it ASAP. It’s totally perfect for those getting warmer nights we’ve been experiencing. I love the juiciness of the watermelon & strawberry and the chamomile adds a really soothing, warm undertone – delish! Make a big batch of these for Sunday brunch…they’ll all be gone, trust me.

Hey there! So sorry for the lack of new cocktails lately, I’ve been super busy with tons of different stuff (lots of blog related things, too!) One of the fun things I’ve been working on has been this fabulous list that I FINALLY get to share with you now – my super extensive list of flavor pairings for making your own amazing cocktails at home…YAY!

It’s definitely taken me a few good years to develop this basic guide, but the best part about it is that it’s always evolving and will never be something to check off as complete. Aside from constantly being introduced to unexpected flavor parings (like pistachio & rose water – it works!), we’re always getting new & exotic flavors to play with. I’ll be sure to update this list as I think of new ideas, so definitely send me your thoughts and additions!

I’m so excited to hear about your creations – Click here to access the list…enjoy!

Asian Pear Nectar

Using this recipe tonight for my HoneyPear Lavender Cocktail, but it’s also nice to have on hand for bellinis and pumped-up comopolitans. You can make this with regular pears too – just use two smaller ones in place of the Asian pear.

Watermelon Puree

If you like the pulpy thickness of the puree that you get after blend your watermelon cubes, you don’t need to strain all of it out. Sometimes I like to strain about half the puree so I get a nice balance. So fresh and bright – use it in the Watermelon and Lemon Zest Margarita or with a splash of club soda!
