Do you think you can handle two smoothie posts in a row? I couldn’t help posting this one tonight…it’s my favorite recipe yet! I’m so in love with the unique but fabulous combo of banana and lemon that I’ll probably making a vodka based version of this delicious sip very soon. I love the mellow flavor of the banana with the sweetness of the lemon curd – you don’t usually see the two together but they works so well together! Yum…

While I’ve been working on some juices for my upcoming cleanse, homemade smoothies have been dominating my diet! It started after bought one before work the other day with peaches, lychees and orange juice. I was hoping for something delicious, but ended up with a watery, bland smoothie made from canned fruit. I was so not pleased, so I started making my own at home from fresh, yummy ingredients. This is one of my favorite recipes so far – a little bit sweet, super fruity and low-cal. Enjoy!

Cranberry Vanilla Syrup

So one of my big resolutions this year (translation: only resolution) is to make lots of syrups to add to my sparkling water. I’ve been drinking a ton of it over the past year thanks to my amazing SodaStream – best purchase ever! I’ve tried to mix it up using a few different types of water enhancers out there, but I’m never very satisfied with the results. The Mio bottles aren’t very flavorful and the fake colors are sooo off-putting while the SodaStream syrups just taste too artificial and are completely overpriced.

I want to make my own flavor combos that are light and refreshing but still more than complex my typical squeeze of lime or splash of pomegranate juice. Simple water enhancers like this recipe encourage those who usually reach for the soda can (me… you too?) to sip on something much healthier and totally natural. I’ve put this first recipe of many to come in a brand new category: Non-Alcoholic Sips. I’m so excited to work with gorgeous & glam flavors that not only work with my fabulous cocktails but also for drinks that are perfect for all day consumption, too!

The Cranberry & Vanilla Syrup below is so light and girly – I love it. It’s got a delicate flavor that you wouldn’t expect in a glass of club soda and it works perfectly with the sharpness of the cranberries. I bet it would be delish topped with some champagne, too!
