Kumato Bloody Mary

May 16, 2012 · 0 comments

This Kumato Bloody Mary has been on my to drink list for at least a year now. I’ve been seeing these cute little tomatoes all over the place lately and thought they would be perfect for a fun twist on one of my favorite Saturday AM drinks. They’re a little bit sweeter than the standard tomato with a rich, full-bodied taste and a gorgeous dark and deep reddish-brown color. I’ve been using them a ton in salads and such – a perfect find and as a bonus they tend to last longer than most fruits & veggies. Great for people like me who can never use an entire package within a couple of days. Yum!

Rosemary Lemon Drop

I love this fun, easy play on the classic lemon drop cocktail. The infused vodka is so easy to make and doesn’t have that overwhelming perfume-like flavor that herbal vodka can get. It plays so well with the tartness & acidity of the lemon juice and also happens to be subtle enough for everyone to love. I like to rim this with some Rosemary Sugar just to tie it all together! You should consider doubling the recipe if you’re using a big martini glass.

Could anything be prettier than a cocktail made with pink or ruby red grapefruit juice? …Nope! Use freshly squeezed juice if you can (it’s totally worth the extra effort, especially if you’re making these to go with a yummy brunch). Also love to top these with a little spritz of champagne when I can!

Don’t worry – you don’t actually have to use Meyer lemons for this cocktail if you can’t find them. I always scoop them up when I can find them because it’s a cross between a regular lemon and an orange. Either one you go with is delish with the blueberries!

This is a great alternative to your traditional cosmo. The black cherry is so smooth and juicy – I like make it extra decadent by using vanilla vodka!
