Ultimate comfort/hot mess food here? Yes and yes. I don’t know about you, but whenever I wake up a little groggy on a Sunday morning (or afternoon – let’s be serious here) I neeeed heavy, delicious diner food as much as I need aspirin and a cold shower. These may not be the healthy choice, but when you make them yourself you can at least pretend you’re doin’ a little bit of good! Maybe some organic milk or chicken broth, baked (not fried) tater tots, fresh raspberries in your accompanying glass of champagne?!
Ok, I won’t push it any more here, but these are really delish. So-so-so-sooo much better than what the diner serves up from out of a cheese whiz or gravy can. They’re also great for lazy days, football parties, etc. Super easy to make and everyone loves them!

These the easiest apps ever! Three staple ingredients that can be assembled in a pinch. You can make them about an hour ahead of schedule and pop them in the fridge when you’re ready. I like to let them sit out for about 20 minutes before serving so they aren’t super cold.

White clam dip is one of those foods that I fantasize about eating every single day. I love this variation because it incorporates a spicy kick with the cayenne and a bright flavor with the cilantro. I would definitely recommend making this a few hours before you plan on serving – the flavors develop dramatically when given some time to meld.

If you’re a fan of onion dip, you owe it to yourself to make this recipe! Taking the time to mix it up from scratch completely knocks the onion soup/sour cream mix out of the water. You can leave out the beer, but I like how it adds to the intensity of the caramelized onions.

These little tuna tartares are my favorite appetizers to make. Amazingly fresh-tasting, light and easy to put together – they are perfect for small cocktail parties. If you prefer, cut the wonton wrappers diagonally to make smaller bites for your guests.
