When I think bottled cocktail mixers…blech, gross. My teeth end up coated in sugar, I feel like I’ve been drinking syrup rather than a yummy cocktail, and I’ve wasted 300 calories on totally unnatural and over-processed ingredients. I just tried RIPE cocktail mixers and these are the one of the few exceptions I’ve come across. They are delish!
The bloody mary was so fresh and lovely – a little bit spicy and full of fresh herbs. I loved how the tomato juice is full bodied…no watered down mixture but still not too thick. This is definitely something that would take a bit of effort to recreate at home – it’s got notes of celery, balsamic vinegar and the earthiness of sea salt.
I also tried the margarita mixer. To sum it up, it was simple & fresh. It’s not the most creative mixer ever (lime juice, agave nectar, orange juice), but it was pure and clean tasting – I loved it. It was great to shake up with some ice for a quick drink and it was perfect when I threw it in my Margaritaville blender (yes, I have one , and yes, I love it!) If you’re going buy a bottled margarita mix, this should be the one. Far superior than the other brands I’ve tried.
Sadly, I didn’t get to try out the sour mix…it’s been sold out at Whole Foods each time I’ve checked! Pick them up (before everyone else does) in the fresh bottled juices section… (I also love how they are always kept refrigerated!)
